Environment Canada makes historic data available to the public. It’s great because you can look way back and see if it really is an abnormal year or it your memory is playing tricks on you. In my case, my memory is spot on. We haven’t had weather like this in October since the early 1970s. Prior to that it looks to be in the 1930s. And those times it was on the 31st – when you’d expect it. We’ve been here for cold and snowy Hallowe’ens, we plan for that. But not this. Our average daily temperature is usually 7.8*, not -2*. And it’s not warming up – it looks like more cold and snow ahead.
